Experienced Certified Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Care Specialist
The Royal Treatment Veterinary Center, an integrative care clinic, is seeking a full-time, fully-trained veterinary technician. We are looking for a self-motivated team player to join our friendly and highly accomplished staff. Our work environment is very upbeat, a small animal hospital with a high level of personal client interaction.
In addition to a love for animals, the right person will have exceptional communication skills and be able to function effectively in a fast-moving work environment. Experience in alternative medicine and veterinary rehabilitation is a plus. Certification is a plus, and highly experienced non-certified applicants will also be considered.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Proper animal restraint for procedures, radiographs, and treatments
- Medication preparation and administration
- Assistance for veterinarian in exams, euthanasias, and procedures
- Blood draws and in-house labwork/cytology/sent-out lab processing
- IV catheter placement
- Radiograph positioning and processing (digital)
- Taking blood pressure readings
- Dental treatments
- Detailed communication with clients
- Underwater treadmill treatments
- Rehab exercises and treatments
- Acquisition and recording of patient’s case history
- Computerized Data entry and record keeping
- Maintenance of pharmacy and DEA records
