Soprano’s Story
Soprano came into my life last year after being found alone in an apartment. His owners had moved out and left him behind. He was brought to Chicago Canine Rescue, and his goofy face caught my heart! Adopted just a month before my father passed away unexpectedly, Soprano quickly became my best friend.
On August 8, during our walk home, he slipped on the stairs. After helping him upstairs, I was shocked to see him unable to stand the next day. He looked to be in so much pain! I was scared and even with all my training, I felt helpless because this is my baby. I called Dr. Royal and she told me to bring him in.
Dr. Royal took a look at him and decided to place him on a steroid right away to bring down inflammation. She also gave him acupuncture. In 10 minutes my dog felt better. I have known Dr. Royal for 10 years and I have seen the love and care she has provided for our patients but it feels different when it’s your dog and it is happening to you.
My Soprano is doing so well! He gets acupuncture and soundwave therapy. It has been over 2 1/2 months and he has not limped or had trouble walking. We try our best to provide for our animals and give them the best treatment. I am so proud to be a part of this team and have seen our therapies and medicine work first hand!
