Please read the following carefully before scheduling an appointment.
Because our schedule is based on certain allotments of time for each appointment, it is extremely important that you arrive a few minutes early. There may be a good amount of paperwork to fill out in advance to help the doctor get a complete picture of your pet’s history. To help you prepare for your first visit, you must complete our online intake form prior to your appointment.
Please include as much detail about your pet as possible. Holistic medicine requires that we go over all the information about your pet’s lifestyle, diet, preferences, vaccination history, and historical ailments. Medical records from previous veterinarians, specialists, or emergency room visits are also reviewed as part of your initial visit. We prefer to request these records in advance of your appointment and will offer to make the request on your behalf, or you may bring records with you to your appointment.
Initial visits typically take one hour, but due to the variety of cases we see it is possible for us to spend longer with you and your pet. In most cases, we may need to see your pet back in one week to one month depending on the treatment plan and their condition. Once your pet’s condition has improved and is stable, the frequency of necessary visits will decrease and may only be once every 6 months. In order to continue to prescribe supplements and medications, we must see your pet every 12 months at the very least.
At the conclusion of the first visit, you will receive a written plan including information on any tests that were performed, results (if available), and recommendations. A staff member will go over this plan with you to make sure everything is clear, and if necessary, have the doctor get in touch with you to clarify or answer any questions. Follow up care will be scheduled if needed.
Prescription Refills
We require a 24-hour prescription refill notice if you are picking up medications at the Center. Under special circumstances, prescriptions can be filled with short notice. Once you have purchased medication for your pet and it has left our practice, we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges.
